Download: IS-Seoul is a meeting place for people with different professional practices and backgrounds, especially academicians and practitioners. The main goals of this conference are to develop advanced forms of laboratory geotechnical testing and apply them to integrated site characterization, thus demonstrating the value of practical engineering applications. We are delighted to announce that more than 300 delegates from 31 countries will attend this symposium. IS-Seoul will be a suitable platform for the exchanging and sharing of ideas, state-of-the-art knowledge, and research results on deformation characteristics through the first Bishop lecture, six keynote lectures, eight theme lectures, oral presentations, and poster presentations. Seoul is a city with a 600 year history, yet it preserves its rich traditional culture and heritage. It is also a city in which modern culture thrives, striking the perfect balance between the old and new. Our symposium seeks to create a connection between theory and testing, knowledge and application, knowhow and development, as Seoul does.
